The Indian government is taking new measures for good quality of screen protectors. This will be beneficial for customers as the low quality screen protectors that actually damages the mobile phones will be removed from the markets.
It is revealed that Indian government is banning low-quality smartphone screen protectors from the markets of India. The new rule will be implemented from April 1, 2027.
After the deadline, every screen protector sold in India needs mandatory BIS certification (IS 19348:2025 standard). If the screen protectors don’t have BIS certification will not be allowed to sell. It is also said that the packaging must show the manufacturer, batch number and thickness.
It is really good but we already updated that the new pricing and the cost for the Indian certification platform for the screen protectors and it will become a new reason for smartphone price hike very soon.
