Tata Sky is the very popular DTH service in the country and the same enjoys a huge amount of user base as well. Tata Sky is also one of the service providers in the country which offer OTT service as well along with the DTH service. The company has also having a strong user base in the southern part of the country as well. Now it is officially confirmed that Tata Sky is now rebranding its name and now it will be dubbed as Tata Play.
With Tata Play, the company is gearing up to expand its television-cum-OTT (over-the-top) offerings in combined packages. Moreover, the company will also add the popular OTT services like Netflix along with Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ Hotstar, as part of its so-called Binge packs.
The company will offer its new combo package with its ₹399 per month plan onwards and it will be implemented from January 27. The company has also confirmed that there will be no charge for visits which means users of the Tata Play can now save ₹175 for every service visit.
Tata Play is also promoting the new change through a nationwide campaign and the company is featuring popular actors Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan in national markets, and R. Madhavan and Priyamani in the southern part of the country.
