The electronics manufacturer, TCL has unveiled up to four new smartphones that add to the TCL 20 series alongside TCL Fold ‘n Roll smartphone. These new smartphones will join the TCL 20 5G and TCL 20 SE that was launched during CES 2021.
These new smartphones flaunt the company’s Nxtvision display technology that promises accurate colour reproduction. It also offers a better screen-to-body ratio and blue light filtering. The TCL Fold ‘n Roll phone is the TCL’s first flexible display phone capable of folding out and roll out at the same time. Let us see the detailed specifications of these smartphones one by one.
TCL 20 Pro 5G
Coming to the TCL 20 Pro 5G, features a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen and a curved display that offers real-time SDR to HDR conversion. It comes with a 395 PPI density and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The display is capable of 700 nits of peak brightness and offers a 93% screen-to-body ratio. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G 5G SoC paired with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, which is further expandable using a microSD up to 1TB.
Coming to the camera department, it offers a quad rear camera setup lead by a 48 MP Sony IMX582 primary sensor with an f/1.79 lens, followed by a 16 MP sensor paired with an f/2.4 ultra-wide angle sensor. Finally, we have two 2MP sensors for macro and portrait shots that has f/2.2 aperture and f/2.4 aperture respectively. For selfies, the company has included a 32MP camera with an f/2.45 aperture inside the punch hole.
Regarding the connectivity options, TCL 20 Pro 5G offers 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. It sports an in-display fingerprint scanner for secure unlocking. The smartphone is backed by a 4,500 mAh battery that supports 18W wired and 15W wireless charging. The smartphone weighs a total of 190 grams. The software runs on Android 11 with TCL UI on top.
TCL 20L, TCL 20L+
The TCL 20L and TCL 20L+ share most of the specifications across the board. All three smartphones flaunt a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED panel with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a 91% screen-to-body ratio. It offers 395 PPI and a peak brightness of 500 nits.
Under the hood, the TCL 20L and TCL 20L+ smartphones are It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset and are combined with 6GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the TCL 20L and 20L+ comes with 128GB or 256GB storage respectively. These smartphones also support external storage expansion as well.
In the camera department, both smartphones come with a quad rear camera setup. The TCL 20L features a 48MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture whereas the TCL 20L+ features a 64MP primary sensor with f/1.79 aperture. The other three cameras are the same for both phones and these have an 8MP sensor with an ultra-wide-angle f.2,2 lens followed by a 2MP macro camera and a portrait sensor with an f/2.4 aperture lens for both cameras.
Regarding the connectivity options, both smartphones feature 4G, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port. As expected, these smartphones have Android 11 OS with TCL UI on top. These smartphones offer a fingerprint scanner for added security as well. Both smartphones are backed by a 5,000 mAh cell that supports 18W charging and both weigh 199 grams.
TCL Fold ‘n Roll
The company briefly teased the Fold ‘n Roll smartphones that sports the folding mechanism like the first-gen Huawei Mate X combined with a sliding display setup similar to Oppo X 2021. It features a 6.87-inch display which unfolds into an 8.85-inch one. Finally, it can be unrolled to a bigger 10-inch display. The company calls it a smartphone, a phablet, and a tablet all in one.
Pricing and Availability
The TCL 20 Pro 5G smartphone is priced at EUR 549 (~₹49,500). It will be available in Marine Blue and Moondust Grey colours. TCL 20L pricing starts at EUR 229 (~₹ 20,700) and will be sold with Eclipse Black and Luna Blue colours. On the other hand, TCL 20L+ will retail for EUR 269 (~₹24,300), It will be available in Milky Way Gray and North Star Blue shades. We do not have any information on the availability and pricing of the TCL Fold ‘n Roll as its a concept phone at the moment.
