We had a really interesting week, as the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S23 series was officially announced and Oppo has made a new 5G smartphone available in the country. Samsung Galaxy S23 series goes official
The Samsung Galaxy S23 sports a 6.1 inch screen and Galaxy S23 Plus features a 6.6 inch screen. Both devices feature Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 48-120Hz refresh rate and a punch-hole set up at the centre position of the screen. The devices can also play HDR10+ content and offers a peak brightness of up to 1,750 nits. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra features a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a QHD+ resolution and a dynamic refresh rate and the same is capable to go up to 120Hz to as low as 1Hz. It is also featuring LTPO technology and offers a peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits. The smartphone series is protected by the Gorilla Glass Victus 2. It is also offering a punch hole set up at the centre position of the screen and supports always-on display.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 series is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chipset. The vanilla and Plus models are coming with 8GB LPDDR5x RAM and upto 256GB UFS 4.0 storage (UFS 3.1 for the 128GB variant of the base model). The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is having 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The smartphone series is running on Android 13 with One UI 5 out of the box.
Speaking about the camera department, the Samsung Galaxy S23 & Galaxy S23 Plus feature a 12MP front-facing camera. While the back panel of the devices offers an OIS-assisted 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide unit with auto-focus support, and a 12MP telephoto shooter with a 3x optical zoom lens and OIS. While the Galaxy S23 Ultra features a 200MP ISOCELL HP2 sensor that is capable to record up to 8K resolutions at 30fps and it is also having optical image stabilization (OIS). Followed by a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens that has an f/1.4 aperture and 120-degree FOV and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, f/2.4 aperture, and OIS support, the camera module is also featuring a 10MP periscope telephoto camera with up to 10x optical zoom and f/4.9 aperture. The device is also coming with a 12MP camera on the front.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 & Galaxy S23 Plus are IP68-rated for dust and water resistance and the devices feature Dolby Atmos-supported dual stereo speakers as well. The smartphones are also supporting an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for an additional layer of security.
Coming to the battery, the Samsung Galaxy S23 is backed by a 3,900mAh battery while the Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus is housing a 4,700mAh battery. The vanilla model is having 25W wired charging while the Plus variant supports up to 45W wired charging. Both devices are supporting 15W wireless charging as well. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is housing a massive 5,000mAh battery with 45W wired and 10W wireless charging as well as reverse charging as well.
Netflix is banning password sharing
Netflix is making a new set up that will enable you to share the password with people who are living in a single household and if people do not leave in the same house then the primary account holder need to use their own account to watch Netflix. While travelling, or you are having a new device that is associated with the primary account and the same is in a separate location then Netflix will ask a temporary 4-digit verification code and the company will grant to use the account for 7 days only.
It is also said that if you use your primary device while travelling then you will have no problem accessing Netflix in other locations as well. Moreover, you need to connect to a Wi-Fi from your primary location, which would be your home, at least once every 31 days.
Oppo Reno 8T 5G is now available in India
The Oppo Reno 8T 5G features a 6.7-inch full-HD+ curved OLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate. The device is powered by an octa-core 6nm Snapdragon 695 mobile processor along with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256 GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
The device is housing a 4,800mAh battery along with 67W SuperVOOC charging support and the device is running on Android 13 with ColorOS 13.0. It is available in the country with a price tag of Rs 29,999 and the device will available from February 10.
Apex Legends Mobile is no more
Apex Legends Mobile has been officially confirmed to be shut down and the application is removed from the Google Play Store and Apple App store on February 1. It will stop working from May this year.
OnePlus 11 will get extended software and security updates
Before launching the OnePlus 11 globally on February 7, the company has officially confirmed that the device will receive four years of Android updates and 5 years of security updates. It is the first phone of the company to receive this much of updates.
