Technobugg’s Top Five Flagship Smartphones of 2016

2016 was a wonderful year for the smartphones, we have seen many new devices during the whole year. 2016 also witnessed for the official launch of Google’s own smartphone. In this article, we picked top five flagship smartphones of 2016. Before get into the article, let me say about the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. It was a superb smartphone, but due to its battery issue we know how it was turned out. Anyways, let’s move ahead and have a look on the top five smartphones of the year.

 

 

 

1 Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL

 

 

 

Google was always in the smartphone industry with their Nexus devices, but all those devices were manufactured by different brands. But 2016 witnessed for official launch of Google’s own device and rebranded the brand name.

 

The Pixel has 5 inch and Pixel XL has 5.5 inch, both devices comes with full HD and AMOLED display along with a Gorilla Glass 4 protection, both are powered by 2.15 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor and paired with 4 GB RAM. The device has 32 GB internal storage.

 

The devices have 12 MP rear camera auto focus with image stabilization and LED flash, and there is an 8 MP front facing camera, the Pixel handset is backed on 2770 mAh battery and the Pixel XL is backed on 3450 mAh battery. You will get Android Nougat 7.1 on both devices, devices will have a fingerprint sensor and Nano sim and 4G LTE connectivity. Google will give Live cases as accessories, that will be accompanied with live wallpaper.

 

Google also giving unlimited backup of photos via Google Photos app on both the devices. The devices have quick charging via USB Type-C. The Pixel and Pixel XL also give Google Assistant feature, with this your life will be easier. The new Google Assistant will help you lots of things. You can ask anything to the assistant and follow up things with your commands.

 

Pixel is priced at ₹57,000, and the Pixel XL is priced at ₹66,000.

 

2 Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

 

 

The second pick is Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, the device is stylish and Samsung is the first company to bring flagship device in India in this year. The device comes with 5.5 inch Quad HD curved display with super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen. The device is powered by 1.6 GHz octa core processor and paired with 4 GB RAM. it has 32 GB internal storage, and can be expandable upto 200 GB via microSD card.

 

It has 12 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and it also has 5 megapixel front facing camera. The device has dual SIM cards support with 4G LTE connectivity, it runs on Android Marshmallow v6.0. and the device is backed on 3600 mAh battery. And the device is priced at ₹50,900.

3 iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus

 

 

I don’t think there’s any introduction needed for the Apple devices, the company has launched iPhone 7 and 7 Plus this year. The two new devices of Apple are different from its predecessors in terms of design and features. The company has done away with the 3.5 mm headphones. Also the home button has fingerprint scanner embedded into it, and it is capable of detecting various level of pressure.

 

The iPhone 7 has got 4.7 inch Retina display and the iPhone 7 Plus has 5.5 inch Retina display. Both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus are powered by quad core A10 Fusion chip. There is improvement in camera, the iPhone 7 getting optical image stabilisation, 6 element f/1.8 aperture lens with 12 MP quad-LED with True Tone flash on the back, and 7 MP front facing camera. And the iPhone 7 Plus has dual rear camera with another 12 MP camera with wide angle and close-up shots, Apple calls this feature as ‘telephoto’ lens.

 

As mentioned above, the company has removed the wires and introduces wireless headphones it will connect over Lightning connector. The company will provide a Lightning to 3.5 mm adaptor. There is no clarity about the battery, but Apple claims that the new devices with much longer battery than its predecessors.

 

The both devices are water proof and it would be available in 32 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB variant. The pricing of the devices will be available starting from ₹60,000.

4 LG V20

 

 

LG launched V20 in this year, it is the first device which shipped with Android Nougat. The V20 has a secondary display on the top of the display for better experience. It also has Hi-Fi quad DAC for better sound. It has snapdragon 820 processor with 4GB RAM & 64GB storage, 3200mah battery, quick charge 3.0, 16MP dual camera with f1.8. Lens & a secondary camera with 8 MP camera. It also had optical image stabilization & hybrid autofocus. For the front facing camera it has a 5 MP camera with f1.9 lens.

 

It has a 5.7 inch Quad-HD Quantum IPS Display and the highlight of the device, it has a secondary display with a 160×1040 resolution. The device has a removable battery and a polished aluminium body.

 

Another juicy factor of this phone is its great audio via headphones, it has a dedicated quad DAC @32bi. It also has 32bit audio mic for better sound via headphone jack. The company has launched the device with the price tag of ₹54,999

 

5 Moto Z

 

 

Motorola really did a comeback with its ‘G’ Series, Moto is very much popular in India. The Lenovo owned company launched Moto Z in this year, which defines a new concept called Mods and it is the slimmest flagship smartphone. It will be more good, if it has good battery. The battery life is terrible because it has Quad HD display and the device has just 2600 mAh battery.

 

The Moto Z coming with 5.5 inch AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass protection, it is powered by 2.2 GHz snapdragon 820 processor and paired with 4 GB RAM. It has 32/64 GB of internal storage and can be expandable upto 256 GB via micro SD card.

 

It has a 13 megapixel rear facing laser auto focus camera with dual tone LED flash. and there is a 5 megapixel front facing camera. The device is bad on 2600 mAh battery with Turbo charging support, and it runs on Android Marshmallow version 6.0.1.

 

Now Moto Mod it is a modular accessory which can be attach at the bottom of the device. The modular accessories include many cool gadgets. And the smartphone is priced at ₹39,999.
