The newly announced Tecno Pova 8 Pro 5G comes with a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED screen along with a 144Hz refresh rate and the device features 2592Hz PWM dimming. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. The device also comes with IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings.
It has the power of the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate processor along with a secondary graphics chip that will be managing frame rates in supported mobile games. The device comes with up to 12 GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512 GB UFS 2.2 storage.
The Tecno Pova 8 Pro 5G houses a large 6,500mAh battery with 45W wired charging and 10W wired reverse charging. The device also supports bypass charging as well. Speaking about the camera department, the device comes with a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA 700C primary sensor with OIS along with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera on the back and a 13-megapixel camera on the front. The device also runs on the Android 16 operating system.
It also comes with features including an AI call assistant capable of recording and transcribing both standard cellular calls and WhatsApp calls. The assistant supports multiple languages like English, Hindi, Bengali, and Marathi. It is also capable of generating text summaries of conversations, extract action items, and categorize contacts based on the context of the call.
The back of the newly announced phone also features a triangular camera layout and the company calls it as the Alive Matrix Display. This is a small dot-matrix screen made of 177 Mini LEDs and it will be showing information like battery status, timers, and caller ID.
Regarding the pricing and availability, the Tecno Pova 8 Pro 5G smartphone is available in Tundra Green, Arc White, and Graphite Black colour options. The 8GB/256GB model costs Rs. 49,999, and the 12GB/512GB version is priced at Rs. 54,999. The device will be available from August 21, and it will be available through Flipkart and physical retail stores.
