China-based company TECNO unveils some of its latest innovations and advances in imaging technology. The announcements were made on the webinar “Global Mobile Camera Trends 2022: Innovation Talk” hosted by technology research firm Counterpoint.
TECNO discussed recent developments and advances in light sensitivity, image and video stabilization, zoom and high-resolution powered by technologies such as RGBW, as well as advances in darker color imaging targeting users in key markets in Africa, India, and other regions. G + P, sensor-shift and telescopic lenses.
TECNO has promised that some of these new technologies will be available in their 2022 product line. According to TECNO, these technologies will revolutionize the photographic capabilities of the phone and allow users to take studio-level photos and videos without professional expertise.
what are these great technologies that TECNO talked about?
According to Jimmy Hsu, Senior Product Manager at Image Technology, TECNO has made significant improvements in light sensitivity with its self-developed RGBW sub-pixel rendering algorithm, this increases the light captured by the CMOS sensor by 60%.
He added that thanks to G + P (glass + plastic) lens technology, light consumption can be increased by up to 30%, resulting in an overall 200% increase and providing consumers with a revolutionary low-light imaging experience.
TECNO also plans to launch its sensor-shift technology in 2022, making it the first mobile phone brand to have Android. It is an image stabilization technology that uses sensor movements instead of lens movements to compensate for vibrations. He added that with further algorithm optimization in the future, TECNO’s sensor-shift control accuracy will reach 350% of the current level.
The company is preparing to launch a concept phone in 2022 with a telescopic lens. The lens offers features such as lossless zoom and large aperture. The company added that the compressed back focal length (BFL) design with motorized stretch lenses significantly reduces the thickness of the phone and integrates with the customer’s requirements for a simpler look and higher performance.
The DXOMARK and Samsung also participated in the webinar. Pan Xuebaoshowing, VP and R&D chief of Samsung, says that Samsung is now close to bringing DSLR-grade photography into the hands of consumers with their Tetra and Nona technologies. ISOCELL prioritizes speed as it brings faster autofocus capabilities as well as solutions to the increasing camera bump problem.
