For those who are unaware Cloudflare is a security service which protects millions of websites from security threats like DDoS attacks. The services of CloudFare also speeds up the server to deliver the content faster to the viewers of a website. If you’re a blogger who has been paying a huge amount to get these services so far, we have a good news for you.
A Domain Name System (DNS) server is what translates a URL (like TechnoBugg.com) into its IP address. And as you know the internet is connected with lots of IP addresses, and custom URLs are merely a signpost that points browsers to a website’s actual location. To translate the text to the corresponding IP address, a DNS server is utilized.
Many guys use the default DNS server that’s pre-loaded onto their device, and some others use 22.214.171.124, which is free DNS by the Mountain View company Google. Well, now Cloudflare is offering a new DNS server 126.96.36.199 without any cost. Moreover, the company claims that it will be faster and more secure than even Google’s.
To make things clear, plugging 188.8.131.52 into your DNS field will not automatically make everything you do on the internet privately and encrypted. This all-new DNS is merely another free tool which people can use to browse the internet with more secure and most important, with peace of mind.
Well, this is not for the first time Cloudflare has used its power as the major security organization. Back in last year, after the deadly Charlottesville massacre, Cloudflare dropped support for White Supremacist site The Daily Stormer. Without Cloudflare protection, the site went down in a DDoS attack quickly, forcing the publication to shut down temporarily.
If there are any concerns that this new DNS service will be used for nefarious purposes, then don’t worry about it as the Cloudflare will pay for an annual audit of the 184.108.40.206 server by an independent company to ensure that everything is on the level. In the meantime, no IP addresses from any users of the service will ever be logged, and all traffic through the DNS will be purged every 24 hours.
