Do you own an Apple iPhone or an iPad? Then you might be better off turning message notifications off for a while. A new bug forces Apple iPads or iPhones to freeze for some time if they receive a particular notification.
According to a Reddit post, receiving a message with an Italian flag and some characters from the Sindhi language (Pakistani) would crash the system. This issue is faced by devices running iOS 13 and iPadOS 13. An explanation could be that the OS is not familiar with those letters or symbols and hence forces the whole system to crash.
Back in 2018, iPhones running iOS 11.2.6 crashed when it received notifications containing some Telugu languages and forced the phone to restart. One way to temporarily fix the problem is to disable notifications of messaging apps for a while. Head on to notification option in the settings on your Apple device, and deactivate it for all messaging apps is one solution. Another fix as per a Reddit user is to jailbreak your device, and we wouldn’t recommend it.
Another bug the company needs to fix as soon as possible is the Mail bug which poses a security threat to the devices. According to the Cupertino giant, this bug existed from a build released in 2012. Apple did not confirm the notification issue, but we guess the software team is hard at work to fix both issues. They could solve theses crashes with an OTA update.
