The newly announced tool by the government of India is called the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) system, and it has been developed by the Centre for Department of Telematics (CDoT). The tool is currently available in selected states of the country and that includes Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and the Northeast.
You can able to block/report your lost/stolen phone by using the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number, which is a unique identification number that every phone has. The platform will also enable you to unblock your phone as well once you find it back.
Steps to block or report your lost or stolen phone
You need to report the lost or stolen phone to the police and get a digital copy. Then you need to get a duplicate SIM card for the lost number as you need to receive an OTP which is required while submitting the request to block your phone. Then you need to visit the website and fill out the form to block your phone.
