We are continuously hearing about the next generation iPhone 16 series and today the popular analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has suggested that the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro will be coming with the 5X tetraprism camera on the board when it will be announced next year.
The Camera sensor will be coming from the yield rate improvements of Apple’s periscope camera supplier, Largan’s tetraprism lens assembly. It is reported to be increased from 40% in 3Q23 to 70% in 4Q23.
Expected to be available on the iPhone 15 Pro Max but the same came across some challenges in the initial stage, with a production yield of only 40% in the third quarter of 2023. This led to negative gross margins and a dip in EPS.
