India is one of the biggest smartphone markets and brands also take the Indian market very seriously, as the OEMs launches exclusive products as well as India specific features for the users of the country. Well, now the first report card of this year arrives and that reveals the Chinese brand Vivo overtakes Samsung in the first quarter of 2020.
According to Canalys, the popular Chinese brand Vivo has secured the second position in the Indian smartphone market and the company overtook Samsung which means now the South Korean electronics giant slip to the third position in the market of India.
Vivo managed to increase its shipments in the country by 50%, while the brand pushes the sales 6.7 million smartphones, on the other hand, Samsung couldn’t manage its statistics and the shipments fell by 14%, while its sales goes down to 6.3 million smartphones.
Having said that, Xiaomi is leading the chart in the first quarter of 2020 and the brand managed to sell 10.3 million devices and it covers 3o.6% of the market. Talking about other brands, Realme and Oppo secure the fourth and fifth positions with 3.9 million and 3.5 million devices respectively.
