Chinese smartphone brand, Vivo has unveiled the design of the Vivo Watch 2 at a joint press conference held in China ahead of its launch on December 22, 2021. The press conference held in China witnessed the announcement of Vivo’s alliance with China’s biggest three telecom companies namely, China Telecom, China Unicorn and China Mobile. The event showcased the design of Vivo Watch 2 to the public at the in-person event.
As per the collected images, it is evident that Vivo Watch 2 gets a circular dial and swappable watch bands. The new entrant has two buttons on the side to aid control. The Vivo Watch 2 is expected to offer in two variants; metallic silver finish and matte black.
Vivo Watch 2 may incorporate features like an OLED display, GPS, a heart rate tracker, a step counter, and a 515 mAh battery and many improvements from its predecessor, the 2020 Vivo Watch.
However, the same press conference announced that in collaboration with the three telecom companies, Vivo Watch 2 will become the first smartwatch from the brand to inherit eSIM based SMS functionality. This feature facilitates Vivo Watch 2 to enable communication through SMS rather than connected via Bluetooth, internet or Wi-Fi.
