The very popular telecom operator Vodafone Idea (Vi) has officially announced plans to expand the 5G connectivity across the country. The company has announced that it will bring 5G connectivity to 90 additional cities by May 2026. It will be increasing the 5G coverage of the company from 43 cities across 17 priority circles to 133 cities nationwide.
Vodafone Idea will be expanding the 5G connectivity across 15 telecom circles, including Mumbai, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Punjab, UP-East, UP-West, Kolkata, and West Bengal.
The company will be using the power of AI-powered Self-Optimising Networks (SON) and the company is collaborating with telecommunications equipment providers Nokia, Ericsson, and Samsung to execute the network upgrades.
