Vodafone wants to give all the possible ways to its users to upgrade themselves to the 4G network. As the telecom giant has joined its hands with Meru, Mega and Easy cabs to allow its users to upgrade to the 4G while traveling.
Vodafone gives the facility in Delhi and we hope the network will expand the facility across the country soon. And if you are boarded in any of the above mentioned cabs, you will upgrade your current 3G SIM to the super-fast 4G SIM even without any cost.
Moreover, you will also get free 4 GB data with the validity of 10 days from the date of upgradation of the SIM. And if you are a post-paid user, then the free benefit of 4 GB will be available till the end of the billing cycle.
To make this kind of facility, Vodafone has refurbished 500 cabs with the 4G SIM dispensers. Which have kits of 4G SIM for both the prepaid and post-paid users, along with the instructions to carry out to upgrade the SIM.
Procedure to upgrade your 3G SIM to 4G SIM:
- Grab a SIM card from the dispenser in the cab.
- You will get the new SIM after identification and compatibility check of 4G device.
- Now send an SMS from your number and type ‘SIMEX <new 4G SIM card number> and send it to 55199.
- You will now receive a reply SMS from 55199, with partial SIM number entered.
- Now send last six digits of new 4G SIM card number, within two hours of receiving partial SIM number entered.
- You will get a success SMS, now after 10 minutes your new 4G SIM will be activated.
- Now replace your old 3G SIM, with the new super-fast 4G SIM.
