Signal is another popular instant messaging application and the app gained popularity recently thanks to the backlash of the privacy policy of WhatsApp which is actually not implemented. The topmost executive of the instant messaging application has stepped down and the co-founder of WhatsApp will take the charge.
Signal’s founder and Chief Executive Officer Moxie Marlinspike has officially confirmed that he will step down and WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton will become the interim CEO. Marlinspike will continue in the board of the company and he will find candidate for the permanent CEO position.
It is worth mentioning that Acton founded the world’s most favourite instant messaging application WhatsApp in 2009 and the company was bought by Meta Platforms, then Facebook, in 2014. Having said that, he alongside Marlinspike started the non-profit Signal Foundation in 2018.
