A top executive of the world’s most favorite instant messaging app says, that WhatsApp is excited about the digital projects in India.
The UPI or Unified payment interface on WhatsApp was spotted in the Google Play beta program.A top WhatsApp executive said that they are excited about these digital projects set in India.This is the government’s digitization initiative.Without delving into the details of the launch of instant payment gateway, WhatsApp has over 200 Million Whatsapp monthly active users (MAU).”We are excited about the digitization of India and the projects in the future” said Alan Kao, a software engineer at Whatsapp.
Wechat and Hike messenger already support UPI services. Whatsapp is planning towards bank-to-bank transfer using UPI system.Whatsapp is highly secured with an end to end encryption by default for all its one billion users globally.This end to end encryption system is implemented with the help of “Open Whisper Systems” which is also the maker of “Signal”-the secure messaging application.”This implementation is the largest ever end to end encryption in history and has been a big step to free speech” added kao.
