Few hours ago, we updated that WhatsApp has extended support for Blackberry and Nokia S40 devices. And now we have news for the old Android device users, as the app has extended support for Android devices 2.3.7 Gingerbread and below.

With the extension, smartphones which running on Android version 2.3.7 and below will get support till the end of February 1, 2020. Which means you use the app for two more years in your device.
WhatsApp has also said that ‘will no longer actively develop for these platforms, some feature may stop functioning at any time’. So these words suggest, you may able to use WhatsApp on Android version 2.3.7 and below but you may not able to the latest feature which they roll out.
If you are using old smartphone, then we would recommend you to upgrade your device with a latest smartphone.
