As the name suggests, the feature will enable you to edit messages and this will reduce the number of deleting messages as we usually send the messages accidentally. It is now said that the edit messages feature is currently available on WhatsApp web as well.
However, the feature is available for beta testers only but we believe that the instant messaging application will deliver the feature to all the users in the near future.
It is worth mentioning that your changes will be saved and the edited message will be shown in the conversation. WhatsApp has also set a limit to editing a message as you need to edit a message within 15 minutes.
