Another day another new feature, the world’s most favourite instant messaging application WhatsApp is now testing a group voice chat feature and the same is similar to Twitter Spaces where any group member can able to join the voice chat. The feature is currently in the beta stage.
It is reported that the instant messaging application will be offering a new waveform-like icon and the same will be available next to the group name. When you tap on the icon, a group voice chat will start and this chat will not be notified to other members.
WhatsApp will enable up to 32 members to connect in the group voice chat and there are no restrictions on who can join the group voice chat which means any of the group member can join the party.
It is also reported that the voice chat will be closed automatically when no other person joins the chat for 60 minutes. We don’t have any information about the availability of the feature in the stable version of the instant messaging application at the moment of time.
