It is reported that WhatsApp is testing an online counter for group chats and the same will show the number of online people in that particular group. It is worth mentioning that this feature is available on Telegram from a very long time.
The online counter will appear at the top bar of group chats and it will be available just below the group name. It is worth mentioning that this feature will not include users those turned off online status visibility in their privacy settings.
