The ability of chat backup is nothing new on WhatsApp as the platform enables users to backup the valuable chars for a very long time. Android users can backup the chat on Google Drive while Apple users can backup their chats on iCloud. Earlier WhatsApp chat backup was not counted in the storage space of Google Drive but it has been changed and the chat backups are also calculated in the storage space of Google Drive.
Today we got a new piece of information that says WhatsApp could enable you to backup your valuable chats on its own cloud storage and the same will be encrypted as well.
It is reported that WhatsApp is currently developing a feature that will enable users to backup the chats on its own 12 storage and the company will be offering 2 GB of free storage. It is also reported that WhatsApp is planning to provide a 50 GB of cloud storage package for a price tag around $0.99.
