The developers of the world’s most popular instant messaging application WhatsApp are now focusing on the security section of the platform. We recently updated that the company will be offering a new way to protect accounts by adding email account on the board and now we got a new piece of information which is suggesting that the company is testing the WhatsApp passkey feature to add an extra layer of protection on your account.
The new security feature is currently available in the latest Whatsapp beta for Android and the same is available on the Google Play Store. The feature will be providing a simple way to sign in safely.
It will be a short sequence of numbers or characters to verify your identity and this will help you to protect your account. It is worth mentioning that you are not supposed to remember the passkey as it is secularly stored in your Google Password Manager.
WhatsApp is also offering you to use the new security feature with different types of security options including fingerprint or face unlock. The feature is currently under development and it might not be available to you even if you are on the latest beta version of WhatsApp. We can expect the availability of the new security feature of WhatsApp in the coming days.
