The instant messaging application WhatsApp is currently becoming a hotspot for scam calls which is leading users to big problems in the country. This started after the implementation of the filter by popular telecom operators. This made the Minister of State for IT, warn to send notice to the instant messaging application WhatsApp.
The company has responded to the notice and confirmed that the company is working on safeguarding users’ privacy and security. It is also revealed that WhatsApp is working hard to curb spam calls and the company is using the power of AI and ML systems to reduce the scam calling rate by 50%.

It is worth mentioning that after the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) asked telecom operators to reduce the number of scam calls using AI solutions as well as filters, made scammers shift their attention to WhatsApp.
WhatsApp is asking users to block and report suspicious numbers and this will help the platform to identify scammers and they can be removed from the platform.
