WhatsApp started to roll out the new feature and it will be available for everyone gradually. The feature is available on the Android as well as iOS platforms. As you guys know that WhatsApp allows users to backup chats on iCloud and Google Drive for the users who use iOS and Android devices respectively. Now with the end-to-end encryption feature, you guys can able to secure the chat backups with a password or 64-digit encryption and that means no one will be able to access the backup files.
How to enable WhatsApp end-to-end encrypted chat backup
Now let’s check out the way to enable the new feature to add an extra layer of security for your chat backup.
First of all, you need to open the WhatsApp messenger and go to the Settings.
Then you need to select Chats > Chat Backup > End-to-end Encrypted Backup.
Now tap Continue and follow the prompts to create a password or key.
After that, tap Done, and wait for WhatsApp to get your end-to-end encrypted backup ready.
That’s it, now you have secured your chat backups as well and it is worth mentioning that if you forget the password or key then you will not able to restore your chat backups.
