WhatsApp updates privacy policy and will share your data with Facebook for targeted ads- here is how to opt out

WhatsApp the most popular chatting application updates its privacy policy now the Instant messaging application your data with its Parent company Facebook.

WhatsApp was acquired by Facebook in 2014, now the messaging giant has announced the big privacy change in their blog. With this update user will get relevant apps from Facebook.


So, now what will be shared with Facebook? The messaging service will share your phone number with its Parent company Facebook. And the messaging company also promised that the number will not be visible to others, but the number will be used to improve advertisements and friend suggestions on Facebook and more service improvements.


So how to opt out this service?


You can opt out this service for next 30 days and here’s how to.


Soon you will get an update for WhatsApp application. After the updating, launch the app and you will see the updated terms and at the bottom there will be an arrow button. Tap on it. Now you will see a check box just uncheck it and tap agree button to opt out the service.

  • Open WhatsApp.
  • Tap on three dots to go to the Settings.
  • Tap on the Account.
  • Now you will ‘Share my account info’, just uncheck it.
