We know that WhatsApp is working on chat messages transmission features since July and now we got a new piece of information that says the developers are now expanding the translation feature to channels as well. It is reported that the developers of WhatsApp are testing the capability of translating the new updates of WhatsApp Channels and the feature is currently available on the beta version of WhatsApp for Android.
Having said that, the translation feature of WhatsApp is under development. So the latest feature of WhatsApp might not get to the beta testers immediately. It is also said that the translation will happen on-device for security and privacy reasons.
So there will be no need for an active internet connection and there is no need to download language packs to use the WhatsApp translation feature. The feature will be available in English, Hindi, Russian, Arabic, Spanish, and Portuguese languages in the starting stage, but more languages could be supported later on.
