Xiaomi has launched the highly anticipated Xiaomi 18 Pro Series including the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. The company has changed its launch strategy as the vanilla variant will be announced at a different event. Usually, the company launches the vanilla along with the Pro series together and the Ultra variant of the smartphone series at a later timeline. The latest Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max come with the latest Android 17 out of the box along with a 120Hz refresh rate, and the devices come with the power of the latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series. The devices also come with a display on the back panel. The company also features a 200-megapixel (f/1.67) primary shooter on both devices. Everything about Xiaomi 18 Pro Series
The newly announced Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max run on the latest Android 17 operating system with HyperOS 4 out of the box. The Xiaomi 18 Pro features a 6.4-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display along with up to a 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, up to 4,000 nits peak brightness, and DCI-P3 wide colour gamut. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max comes with a 6.9-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with the same features as the small brother. Both devices offer the new Privacy Display and the same will be reducing the viewing angles of the screen to restrict shoulder surfing.
Xiaomi has also added a display on the back of both devices that features a 2.7-inch and 2.9-inch AMOLED displays respectively. The rear display comes with the same refresh rate and peak brightness as the main screen.
Speaking about the performance, the Xiaomi 18 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 mobile processor, while the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max has the power of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 SoC. The devices come with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 internal storage.
Coming to the photography, the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max feature a triple rear camera system that is in the combination of a 200-megapixel (f/1.67) primary camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), along with a 200-megapixel (f/2.4) periscope telephoto camera with OIS and a 50-megapixel (f/2.4) ultrawide camera with a 102-degree field of view. Both devices are capable of recording videos at up to 8K/ 30 fps. The devices also come with a 50-megapixel front-facing camera.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max comes with a large 8,500mAh battery, while the Xiaomi 18 Pro is backed by a 7,000mAh battery. Both devices support 100W (wired) and 50W (wireless) fast charging, along with 27W wired reverse charging. The devices also support 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, a USB Type-C port, GPS, GLONASS, QZSS, NavIC, and Galileo for connectivity. The Xiaomi 18 Pro series also supports an in-display fingerprint scanner and face unlock support.
Regarding the pricing and availability, the pricing of the Xiaomi 18 Pro starts at CNY 5,999 while the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max starts at CNY 6,999. Both devices will be available in China from September 31 via the Xiaomi online store. The Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max are available in Black, Ice Peach Pink, Starry Blue, and White colour options.
