The 2020 Tokyo Olympics officially ended on August 8. On the same day, Manu Kumar Jain, Managing Director xiaomi India, announced on Facebook and twitter that their company will be offering Mi 11 Ultra and Mi 11X smart phones to Indian athletes who have won medals in international games.
India won a total of 7 medals at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Xiaomi India will present six Mi 11 Ultra prizes to six individual sports winners. Meanwhile, players of the entire Indian national hockey team will be given a Mi 11X as a gift. Manu Kumar Jain, MD of the company, made the announcement on Facebook and Twitter.
The company executive says that this is Xiaomi India’s way of saying thanks for fulfilling India’s dreams and bringing tears of joy and happiness to 1.3 billion people. He added that the performance of these athletes will definitely inspire millions of children.
The Tokyo Olympics 2020 witnessed India’s all-time best performance. Therefore, the whole country celebrates the success of its sports personalities. The government of India, various local governments and others also announced prizes for the medal winners.
Xiaomi’s Mi 11 Ultra retails in India for Rs 69,999. The Mi 11X, on the other hand, is an upper mid-range smart phone, starting at 29,999.
