Back in 2017, the Mountain View company Google introduced Google Lens and the feature is to help users to identify various things and the company made the feature available in the Google Photos as well as Google Assistant at the announcement. Then in 2018, the company brought the Google Lens with the camera app of the smartphone and that helped people to access the feature directly from the camera application of the device.
Many smartphone brands implemented the Google Lens into camera application, now the Chinese electronic giant Xiaomi is following the path, as the company introduces the Google Lens into its camera application. Well, that means users of the MIUI camera can able to use this feature directly from the camera and instead of downloading separately. The company has confirmed the arrival of the Lens on the Indian section of MIUI’s forums.
The Google Lens can pick up on imagery from the camera of the device, and use Assistant to bring all the important information. With this, you can do things like automatically connect to Wi-Fi with a quick snap of the SSID, and you can even show ratings for restaurants by just pointing your camera.
Right now, the feature is testing on Poco F1, Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Y2, you need to enable the option in Settings. To launch it, you must have the latest build and then open the Camera app. Google Lens is found in the contextual menu, hidden behind the menu on the top right corner.
