The Chinese electronics giant Xiaomi has officially launched a new smartwatch for children and the device is dubbed the Xiaomi Kids Watch. The latest Xiaomi Kids Watch comes with a distinctive eight-sided frame along with a flip-up camera mechanism that will enable the little ones to easily switch between the front and rear cameras. The device features a 5-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies, while the back has an 8-megapixel camera.
It comes with a 1.75-inch AMOLED display with 390 x 450 pixels resolution. The device offers 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It also supports fast charging and the device has a 740mAh battery.
The device also comes with the support of 20-meter water resistance along with tracking features like GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS. The device also supports AI-enhanced floor-level positioning along with safety features including geofencing, school arrival alerts, location history, and one-touch SOS calling.
It also supports voice and video calls, voice messages, and child-friendly versions of WeChat and QQ. The device features NFC for transit card support, access cards, and compatible smart door locks. It will enable parents to link the device with Xiaomi’s smart home system via the Xiao Ai voice assistant.
The latest Xiaomi Kids Watch comes with health related features, including heart rate and mood tracking, as well as a dedicated sports system with 18 activity modes designed for K12 students. The device will be sending alerts if a child enters a water-prone area as well.
