Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S Goes Official

After getting leaks and rumours, the Chinese electronics giant Xiaomi finally unveiled the much-awaited smartphone called Mi Mix 2S in China. The device is not coming with the trend which was started with the iPhone X, which means the device is not coming with the Notch on top of the display and it comes with the design of the last year’s flagship smartphone. So, without wasting any time let’s dive into the article to know more about the device.

The Mi Mix 2S sports 5.99 inch FHD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio and the company has achieved 81.9% screen-to-body ratio and having 2160 X 1080 pixel resolution and it is also has Gorilla Glass for to protect the display. The device is powered by 2.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 845 processor and paired with 6/8 GB RAM along with Adreno 630 GPU for the graphical task. In terms of storage, the device is coming in three variants 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage, 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB of internal storage.

Moving to the camera department, the device has dual camera setup at the back and it is placed in a vertical setup. The camera is coming with the combination of 12 megapixel (f/1.8 aperture) + 12 megapixel (f/2.4 aperture) with 1.4 Micron pixel Sony IMX 363 dual pixel autofocus technology and phase detection system, 4-axis OIS and dual-tone LED flash. The device is also coming with an 8 megapixel front facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, and the company has also added multi-frame noise reduction which will use the software as well as hardware to reduce the noise. The company has also revealed that the camera gets a DxOMark score of 101.

In terms of connectivity, the device supports 4G connectivity along with Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi, reversible USB Type-C port, and GPS. The device runs on Android Oreo 8.1 which is based on MIUI 9.5 out of the box.

Moreover, the company has also introduced its own new voice assistant called Xiaol and the device also supports the  Google ARCore. It also features fingerprint scanner and face unlock feature to give the maximum security to the users of the device. The device is backed on 3,400 mAh battery along with wireless charging ability and it supports 7.5-watt wireless charging capability.

Speaking about the pricing and availability of the device, the company has priced the device starting at CNY 3,299 (approx. ₹34,000). The device will go on sale in China on April 3, and there is no information about the availability of the device in other parts of the world..
