We got a tone of leaks and rumours about the Xiaomi Mi 6X from quite a lot of days. This smartphone is going to be the successor of last year’s Mi 5X. It is also suppose to launch globally as Mi A2 i.e. the successor of Android One powered Mi A1. Now today Xiaomi has launched this device in China. This device has a lot of things which makes it a true premium mid-ranger. So without wasting any more time, let’s have a look what this smartphone packs inside.

This Mi 6X sports a 5.99 inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with 18:9 aspect ratio, 403 ppi, and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood, this phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 octa core kryo based processor clocked at 2.2Ghz along with Adreno 509 GPU. It has 4/6/6GB of RAM along with 64/64/128GB of internal storage. Talking about the camera it has Dual 20MP (f1.8 lens and 1.00mm micron pixels) + 12MP (f1.8 lens and 1.25mm micron pixels) Rear Camera Setup with PDAF, 2x optical zoom, and LED flash. It has 20MP front facing camera with f1.8 lens and 1.00mm micron pixels. Though the company claims that the front camera sensor can combine 4 different pixels and make a large 2.0mm micron pixels, but let’s see how well it goes. Also both rear and front cameras have AI support which will give better photos, especially bokeh shots with its software optimization.
This device is packed with a 3010mAh battery with the support of Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 as well. It runs in latest Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with Miui 9.5 on top. This will have Project Treble support as well. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the back side, and it will also have face unlock feature. It has all the sensors required on a smartphone. Regarding connectivity, it has 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, FM Radio, USB Type-C port, and GPS. But wait, it has a major drawback in terms of hardware. This is the 1st Xiaomi mid-range smartphone which has NO HEADPHONE JACK support. This phone will come in four colour options; Black, Glacier Blue, Sand Gold, Flame Red, and Cherry Pink.

- No information about the availability in other regions.
So that’s all the information we have as of now. Honestly speaking this device is looking quite interesting in terms of what they are offering for the price. I guess this is one of the cheapest smartphone which comes with Snapdragon 660 processor. But one thing which really disappointed is the removal of 3.5mm headphone jack. And here I am a bit feared that if this smartphone will launch in other regions like India as Mi A2 i.e. with Android One project, than it might bring the No 3.5mm jack trend in mid-range smartphones.
