Xiaomi has undergone a lot off scrutiny with the Chinese brand label and privacy risk concerns. Recently, the ad situation made things even worse for them. But yesterday Xiaomi took wraps off a new logo and announced a “Xiaomi Privacy Brand”. According to the company, this represents their commitment to protecting users’ information privacy and security.
Xiaomi informed that this logo will be present in their upcoming products and are very serious about the privacy aspect. They developed an open-source MAC framework, which is an AI framework for smartphones. It eliminates the need for data upload to the cloud. The handling of data will be done offline in the respective devices.
This clearly shows how serious they are about the in-house MIUI Project. After all, Xiaomi began their journey as a software company with the launch of MIUI. Until recently the ROM was available to other devices as well. With the launch of MIUI 12 around the corner, one can expect significant changes behind the scene workings regarding privacy and security in Xiaomi products. More details regarding their policy and the new UI can be expected in an event scheduled on April 27 in China.
