Earlier today, Xiaomi unveiled 3 brand new laptops under the RedmiBook moniker in China. These laptops come in three different screen sizes – 13-inches, 14-inches and 16-inches. As you might have guessed these models are named RedmiBook 13, RedmiBook 14 and RedmiBook 16 respectively. The RedmiBooks are having AMD Ryzen Processors inside and have up to 1 TB of SSD storage to boot. Let us take a look at the detailed specifications and features of the RedmiBooks.
Processor and Pricing
Starting with the smallest of the three, the RedmiBook 13 is powered by AMD’s Ryzen 5 4500 CPU. It has 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of SSD storage combination. This configuration is available for CNY 3,799 (INR 40,200). If you go higher the RAM capacity, it can be upgraded to 16 GB keeping the rest same for CNY 3,999 (INR 42,300).
The maxed-out RedmiBook 13 is available with AMD Ryzen 7 4700U. The graphics are handled by the AMD Radeon Integrated Graphics. It comes with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB PCIe SSD storage. The 1 TB SSD configuration is exclusive to RedmiBook 13. The RedmiBook 13 with 1 TB storage is priced at CNY 4,999 (INR 53,000). It is available in Silver colour only.
The RedmiBook 14 and 16 have the same 7 nm Ryzen 4000 Series mobile CPUs as the RedmiBook 13. The 8 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD storage versions of RedmiBook 14 and RedmiBook 16 price starts at 3,799 CNY and 3,999 CNY respectively. For the 16 GB RAM version of RedmiBook 14 and 16, the company is charging CNY 3,999. If you want the 512 GB RAM version with Ryzen 7 CPUs of both RedmiBook 14 and 16, it will set you back CNY 4,499. In addition, the RedmiBook 16 offers a performance mode which can be easily toggled with a button combination. RedmiBook 14 is available in Silver colour whereas the RedmiBook 16 is available in Grey colour.
Other Features
All three RedmiBooks come with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels with a screen-to-body ratio of over 90%. The display resolution is clocked at 60 Hz. Both RedmiBook 13 and 14 displays have a maximum brightness of 250 nits. The RedmiBook 16 has a slightly higher 300 nits of brightness at peak. The keyboards are backlit as well. When it comes to battery both RedmiBook 13 and RedmiBook 14 has 40 Wh cell inside. The RedmiBook 16 has a couple more, taking the count to 46 Wh, capable of charging up to 50% in just 38 minutes.
All three RedmiBooks come with 2 USB Type-C ports and a single regular USB Type-A Port for connectivity. There is an HDMI port as well for sharing the display content to other screens. Xiaomi has also managed to include a 3.5mm headphone jack for music lovers. All models support dual-band 2.5 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0. There are two speaker units rated at 2 W each that also supports DTS audio. These come with Windows Home Chinese Edition pre-installed.
Availability
All the RedmiBook models are available for a pre-sale from today in China. These notebooks will go on sale in the companies website officially from June 1. The company has not released any details about the International availability of these notebooks. But there are strong rumours that Xiaomi is getting ready to launch first-ever notebooks from the brand in India very soon. If all goes well, we could see Xiaomi conquering the Indian Laptop Market with their aggressive pricing before the end of the year.
