The Chinese smartphone maker, Xiaomi is known for innovations in design. The Mi Mix Series owns the credit for introducing a bezel-less screen, ceramic body and the elegant Mi Mix Alpha that was wrapped with a curved display so on. Now leaks claim that the company is working on an under-screen flip camera that can double up as both front and rear cameras.
The flip mechanism used inside the smartphone will rotate the camera `80-degrees when in need. In this manner, “Terminal device,” one set of cameras can be used to click photos from the front or back of the smartphone. This was uncovered from the patent given by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
The document shared by LetsGoDigital, says that the application was filed in February 2020 for a “Terminal device,” that has an under-display rotating camera. According to rumours, this device will be unveiled by Xiaomi in a year or so. It consists of lenses and sensors that promise great quality photos. It comes with a rotatable top lens. The patent suggests that an array of magnets will be used to facilitate the smooth rotating motion of the camera.
