The popular video hub YouTube has received multiple new features on its mobile application and some of them were previously available to Premium users and YouTube has also announced a new ‘You’ tab that will be offering a combination of the existing ‘Library’ tab and account page on the board. The newly introduced ‘You’ tab is actually replacing the ‘Library’ tab and the same will be available at the right corner of the bottom navigation bar. The developers of YouTube have also made some changes to the ‘Like’ and ‘Subscribe’ buttons as well. Now you will find the buttons glow and have a fancy sparkle animation when you tap on them.
YouTube has also introduced a new lock screen while watching videos and the feature will eliminate accidental taps. That means you can enjoy a video without any interruption. The feature is available on both mobile and tablet. You can able to lock the screen by simply pressing the gear icon on the top right and tap on ‘Screen lock’.
Next up on the list is the capability to search songs by humming or singing, which means now you can find any song easily on YouTube. The feature has the power of artificial intelligence to identify the sound of the original recording.
Stable volume is another new feature and the same will help you to automatically balance the sound in a video. The company says that the feature will be enabled by default and it might take some time to appear on your device. Finally, the developers of YouTube have enhanced the video player and now you can able to long press anywhere on the player to change the video playback speed to 2x speed and the preview thumbnails are also bigger now.
