5G is the next cellular network the world is looking, and it is not very far from the reality as we are inching closer to achieve 5G. And now the Chinese multinational telecommunications equipment and systems company – ZTE is gearing up to launch the first 5G smartphone in near future
Lixin Cheng, the CEO of the company’s US arm, confirmed that the company will unveil the first 5G smartphone in an interview with Bloomberg. He said that the device would be launched in late 2018 or in early 2019, according to the availability of the network and needed chips.
Having said that, networks like AT&T and Verizon already announced that they will roll of 5G by the end of this year. Moreover, Sprint also confirmed that they will commercialize 5G services by late 2019. And the companies of chipset makers like Qualcomm are developing the new chip which can be used for the next generation network.
So, all these are indicating that 5G is not far away from us and if everything goes well then ZTE can able to execute its plan in the time frame which they set.
