After all the rumours and leaks, Reliance Jio has officially launched its feature phone which is enabled with 4G VoLTE. As we updated earlier, the company has launched the device at its Annual General Meeting and the device will be called as JioPhone.
Mr. Mukesh Ambani has launched the JioPhone, the device is enabled with 4G VoLTE and the device can be say as it will be available for free of cost. As customers have to pay an amount of ₹1,500 which is refundable security deposit, customers will get the amount back after 3 years. The company said that the deposit will prevent from unwanted activities.
Features
The JioPhone comes with 2.4 inch display screen, along with the 4-way navigation buttons and the alphanumerical keypad (the traditional feature phone setup). The device also has 4 GB internal storage, along with 512 MB RAM. It allows you to expand the storage via microSD card, it also has 2 megapixel rear camera and VGA camera in front of the device.
The company has also added NFC chip, which will support cashless transaction through tap-and-pay solution. The device also comes with 22 Indian languages and support for voice commands, and the device also has the ability to send the location data to the emergency contact if there is any trouble. You have to press the number 5 button on the keypad, in order to share the location.
Plans
The device have access to Jio services like JioTV, JioCinema, JioMusic and more, it also gets the Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer for just ₹153, and you will get unlimited data, voice calls along with free SMS. There is another plan which costs ₹309 per month, and it will give you all the benefits like free calling and SMS, unlimited data, plus the support for mirroring your screen on a TV via cable that can even be connect into the CRT TVs. The company has also launched sachet packs worth ₹24 for two days and ₹54 for a week of validity, and it offers the same benefits which you get with ₹153 per month plan.
Availability
- The device will be available for beta testing from August 15.
- It will be available for pre-booking from August 24.
- You can able to book the device via MyJio app, or Jio retailer.
- It will be available from September, on the basis of first come first serve.
