The popular mobile chipset maker MediaTek has officially introduced the latest MediaTek Dimensity 8500 mobile processor. It comes with impressive specifications and also has AI capabilities. So let’s get into the article to check out the full details.
Everything about MediaTek Dimensity 8500
The newly announced Dimensity 8500 mobile processor is built around an all-big-core design based on TSMC’s N4P (4nm) process. The processor also comes with Cortex-A725 cores that offers eight CPU cores, running at different clock speeds. A prime Cortex-A725 core clocks at 3.4GHz, three high-performance Cortex-A725 cores run at 3.20GHz, and four additional Cortex-A725 cores operate at 2.20GHz.
Mediated has introduced the second generation all-big-core CPU that offers a 7% performance improvement along with LPDDR5X memory with speeds of up to 9600Mbps. It also comes with a new Mali-G720 MC8 GPU for the graphical task and it also supports “realistic ray tracing.”
The GPU is capable to provide stable frame rates above 110fps even in outdoor environments at 35 degrees Celsius. The chipset also supports Dimensity Multi-Frame Rate technology and the same will be reducing up to 30% power during gameplay, while MOBA titles will get power savings of up to 37% compared to the previous generation.
It also comes with MediaTek’s NPU 880 for neural processing and the processor also supports on-device generative AI features including real-time translation and image generation. The processor is also compatible with the Dimensity AI Development Kit and major global language models (LLM / MLLM).
Speaking about the camera department, it supports multiple AI-assisted imaging tools, including an AI Ultra-Clear Telephoto Algorithm, semantic segmentation, and AI-powered reflection and glare removal. The processor also supports cinema-grade 4K HDR video recording, zero shutter lag, and full-pixel phase detection autofocus.
In terms of connectivity, the newly announced Dimensity 8500 supports a 5G modem capable of download speeds up to 5.17Gbps, along with three-carrier aggregation and dual-SIM dual-standby. The processor also features MediaTek’s UltraSave 3.0+ technology.
So let’s wait for the first phone with the new processor and you guys are recommended to stick with us for more updates at your fingertips.
