This era is computer era
Almost every one of us has heard this in our school days in computer classes. And yes obviously it was the truth. But now it is no longer the same! Times have changed. By the word Computers, we just used to refer only to PC’s and industrial computers especially the desktops. But then the traditional desktop and tower type was pushed to the corner by the portables like laptops and notebooks. Desktops then just survived on office desks only because of their modularity, their properties could be expanded as necessary, unlike the old portables. But it didn’t take long for the portables to grow into modular too. They still kept evolving and now we refer them as smartphones. Smaller but better. But still, we cannot call this as the era of computers because now they are being overtaken by new technology or shall we say that new technology has already overtaken Computers?? That new technology is nothing but Artificial Intelligence or AI in short.
Yes obviously. We see AI all around us now. The social media we use (like Facebook, Instagram etc) or the e-commerce sites or apps we use, or any other web app or program for that sake, use AI bots, either as mining programs or as assistive technology. They have blended with our lives in a way we don’t even know they exist. Famous assistive technologies in phone and Computers like Cortana, Siri or Google now and much more are AI programs too.
Google is in the lead since the beginning. First with the “Google Now” and now with many open as well as closed group programs including “Google Assistant”. It is also one of the first companies to sell smart products that can control other devices based on our commands. One such device is Google home. Google home is near perfect in all the ways but it’s phone sibling wasn’t. Google home could play or cast music/videos to supported televisions or to Chromecast directly but the phone version wasn’t capable of doing this. The main aim of developing the AI technology is to ease our life. And if these cross-platform conflicts arise then it might discourage people from using it and could force them from stopping its use. But the happy thing now is that Google has enabled this in our phone version assistant app too including many other tweaks. We don’t know why Google took so long to enable this

But finally, it is here. This might be a stepping stone for Google to give the consistent experience to its user across all devices using its AI.
