Android is a something most wonderful operating system, and it is now running on most of the devices out there. People simply love Android because of its simplicity and the features, Google started Android development in 2010, and since no one has looked back, and the popularity of Android increased day by day. In my opinion, it is the best OS for the mobile platform, and it is better than IOS in many ways.
Since the Android arrived on mobile devices, Google kept Easter Eggs, sometimes Google treated us with images, and sometimes with games. But all those Easter eggs captured attention of its users, and few them are really mind blowing ones. So, I thought why not we look back to all those wonderful Easter eggs. In this article, I will cover the history of Android Easter eggs. Are you guys excited for this??? Okay, without wasting time let’s start!
Gingerbread v2.3
Gingerbread is the first version of Android which shown that the users of a smartphone can explore the world in more ways and in a more powerful way. The head of Android teamed up with an artist named Jack Larson. Larson made Zombie portraits, it was not so good to look, but yeah it was okay to have that kind of the surprise to the users.
Honeycomb v3.0
The Honeycomb was released in 2011 by the tech giant Google, and it was the first version of Android for tablets (and we don’t have anyone yet), with this operating system Google bought a new look to the Android as well as to the Easter eggs. In this version of Android, the Easter Egg looked beautiful and awesome.
Ice Cream Sandwich v4.0
Ice Cream Sandwich is something sweeter than its previous versions. And I personally used this version of Android in my hands, I really liked it as it was simple and awesome to use. Oh yes, this version of Android doesn’t have too many features like we have in the latest version. But still at that time Ice Cream Sandwich was something really great to have in your hand, and in this version of Android, Google bought a Bugdroid with a sweet cookie exterior when we long press on the Bugdroid, it becomes bigger and bigger and finally, it will start flying.
Jelly Bean v4.1 – v4.3
Jelly Bean came huge changes to the operating system, it came with improved notification system along with improved security options. And in this version, Google started to make Chrome as the default browser, now in this version of Android, Google kept a happy looking Jelly Bean and it feels the screen. Once you tap, it will bring smaller Jelly Beans could fling all around the screen.
KitKat v4.4
KitKat was released in 2013, and it was one of the most popular Android version. This version came with lots of new features and one of the most important one, is Google Now. And it also runs smoothly even on low specs devices. This version of Android came with totally different Easter egg than its previous versions. This time we can see the letter ‘K’ which could spin around and when you tap on it, we could see Android in that typeface used on KitKat packaging, pressing on it will bring mosaic tiles and each of which has a logo representing previous version of Android and it moves around.
Lollipop v5.0
Lollipop is yet another one of the most favourite Android version of mine, and it came with material design. The Android Easter Egg of this version was something looked like flappy bird, when we enter into the Easter Egg we can see an image of lollipop with lollipop written on it. And when we press few times on it, it starts the flappy bird like game and it’s really awesome to play.
Marshmallow v6.0
In this version, Google just polished the flappy bird like game, and in this Google puts Marshmallow on sticks. And we have to pass the Android icons between them, it really feels great to play on. To make the game more tougher, you can tap the ‘+’ button which would multiply the people to play at once.
Nougat V7.0
In this version of Android, Google made two Android Easter Eggs, one for developer preview and another in public version; here I am going to explain about the Easter Egg which we got in the public version. And the Easter egg of Nougat was a game called Android Neko, which is based on a popular kitty-collecting game called Neko Atsume.
Oreo v8.0
The Easter Egg of the latest version of Android i.e. Oreo, will allow you to control sea creature, once you tap on the Android version several times (the way you access to the Android Easter Egg). You will see a big O long press on it will turn your device into an ocean scene along with a cute little Octopus will be on your screen. You can watch him float or grab him and move him around rotating the screen changes the size of the Oreoctopus.
