Earlier we have to pay a small amount of fee every year to renew the subscription of WhatsApp instant messaging application. But soon after the acquisition of the world’s favourite instant messaging application, Facebook announced that there will be no subscription fees. Well, after that we started to hear that the company will implement ads in the instant messaging application and now it is confirmed and we got the timeline for this.
The company made the announcement at the annual Facebook Marketing Summit in the Netherlands. The social networking giant will implement advertisements in the status section of the instant messaging application. The company also shared a slide and this suggests that that the advertiser’s name will be visible to the users and that can be swiped away which means it will not annoy too much.
Furthermore, it is also confirmed that the company will start showing advertisements in the status section of the messaging application from next year. Which means 2020 will start showing advertisements in WhatsApp and this will be the next step of the company to generate revenue from the application after introducing the WhatsApp Business.
Personally speaking, the company must implement an option which will allow users to pay a particular amount to avoid the advertisements. This will give an option to the users to stay in the free version with an advertisement or they can upgrade to the premium membership which will not offer any type of advertisements.
So, what are your thoughts about this move??? Do let us know in the comments section below!
