Currently, only Reliance Jio’s smartphone only has the VoLTE option in the country, this feature is not available with the other leading mobile telecom operators in the country.
To overcome this situation, the leading mobile telecom operators are all set to launch VoLTE connectivity. Airtel the largest mobile operator of the country, has already signed a whopping $60 million contract with Nokia to launch the technology. Airtel may launch the service officially in coming months.
Vodafone the second largest mobile operator of the country, also ready to join the race. Vodafone has the 4G spectrum as the network won in the recently held auction. Vodafone already testing the service in some selected areas by using Nokia IMS solutions. Idea are also keeping themselves to join the race, as the network is in advanced talks with the Ericsson and Nokia.
