As you know, Qualcomm is one of the world’s leading chipset manufacturers and today they have shared the details of Snapdragon Sound, an array of audio technology aimed at smartphones and wireless audio products. It promises better compatibility between Qualcomm powered smartphone and wireless audio gears.
With the new technology company promises superior connectivity, sound quality, and additional features such as active noise cancellation (ANC) and voice communication software. In order to facilitate this, both source and destination device should support this technology. The Snapdragon Sound will be packed in smartphones powered by Snapdragon 888 scheduled to arrive later this year.
It covers most components that contribute to audio quality such as the chipset, connectivity, ANC technology, and Bluetooth codec support, and so on. When a user pairs a Snapdragon Sound compatible audio product and smartphone the full suite of Qualcomm technology like aptX Adaptive Bluetooth codec, ANC algorithms, Qualcomm FastConnect will work alongside.
The first companies to release products with this technology are expected to be Xiaomi and Audio Technica and users will be able to check whether their product comes with Snapdragon Sound by looking for a pop-up logo. Qualcomm has also partnered with Amazon to showcase the power of Snapdragon Sound via the Amazon Music HD app.
