Amazon the world’s largest e-commerce player and the company is not only limited in e-commerce sector, the company offers on-demand streaming platform and the company also features its Amazon Studios and the same brings exclusive content for the Amazon Prime Video. Well, now the company will have an upper hand in the online streaming sector as the company announces that MGM will be Amazon’s part.

It is officially confirmed that Amazon has agreed to purchase MGM for $8.75 billion, and that means now Amazon content library will be expanded massively, as MCM has 4000 films and the 17000 hours of television shows. The deal will include all the content of MGM and that means Amazon will now have contents of almost a century.

Having said that, MGM’s films and shows have collectively won more than 180 Academy Awards and 100 Emmys. The movies include in the deal are the James Bond series, Legally Blonde, Poltergeist, Robocop, Rocky, Silence of the Lambs, Tomb Raider, and Creed. TV shows include Fargo, The Handmaid’s Tale, and Vikings.

It is worth mentioning that the accusation process is in the beginning stage and it will take few time to complete. We can also expect a new pricing for the Amazon Prime Video as well.
