In 2019, we witnessed for a massive pandemic and that continued for a couple of years. It created a massive problems across the world and we also witnessed for layoffs from various companies. It seems that the problem is yet to be finished as today Amazon has announced around 30,000 corporate jobs cut in just three months. The company announced the laying off roughly 14,000 employees in October, and now the company has now confirmed another round of job cuts affecting 16,000 corporate workers by the end of this month.
The latest layoffs were confirmed by Beth Galetti, one of the top most executives of the company. It is announced that the latest job cuts are part of a longer restructuring process that has been ongoing since last year.
It is also announced that the US based staff will be provided 90 days to search for another role internally and the timeline might be different internationally depending on local and country-level requirements. Those who can’t able to find another role, as well as those who choose not to pursue one, will be offered severance pay, outplacement services, and health insurance benefits.
Let’s hope that other brands will not follow the path of Amazon in the coming months and share your thoughts and opinion about the matter in the comments section below.
