Amazon India Asks Sellers To Show Country Of Origin

Key Points:
  • You will soon see the origin of the country in the product listing.
  • Amazon India asks the seller to update the listing by August 10.
  • It is also demanded that the information must be accurate.

Just a couple of weeks ago, we updated that the honorable Court has directed the Indian e-Commerce platforms to list the origin of the country in the product listing and after the trade Ministry of the country has also asked the same direction to The e-Commerce websites.

Well, now Amazon India has following the direction as the e-Commerce giant has asked the sellers to update the product listing with the country of origin.  Sellers need to review the amazon India sellers’ guide. That means now you will able to see the country of that product, for example, if you’re purchasing a smartphone then you can able to see from where it is origin, if the device is from the Chinese country then you can able to see China as the country of origin.

Amazon India has also asked the sellers to update the product listing by August 10 and the e-Commerce giant has also said that the information must be accurate.

Its a good move because it will help to find an alternative, for example, if you want to purchase a switch board and if that particular item is manufactured by China then you can able to find an alternative and get one which is developed by India.
