Amazon has refreshed its lineup of smart devices consisting of Echo Speakers and Firestick Streaming devices. The company has launched successors to the existing products namely – Echo, Echo Dot, and Echo Show 10 which belongs to the smart speaker category and we have new Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Stick Lite streaming devices. Let us break down each and get to know the specifications and features.
Echo
The new base model Echo is a combination of the Echo and Echo Plus models. It sheds the tower-shaped design for a new spherical shape. The grilled sphere has a glowing rung of LED inside. The speaker hardware gets upgraded with a single 3-inch woofer and dual tweeters combined with Dolby audio processing. Now the Echo can sense the acoustics of your space and automatically tune the audio.
It includes a built-in smart home hub with support for Zigbee, Bluetooth Low Energy, and Amazon Sidewalk. With the new generation of Echo, there is no need for a separate hub and you can connect our smart home devices directly to it. It runs on Amazon’s new first-generation AZ1 Neural Edge processor, offering better recognition and faster responses from Alexa.
Echo Dot
It now comes in three versions. The design is similar to the spherical Echo. The basic version comes with a new 1.6-inch full-range speaker whereas another version with an LED display to show the time, temperature, timers, and alarms are also available. In addition, Amazon has also unveiled an Echo Dot Kids Edition. It is the same as the standard Echo Dot but with two new Colours – Panda and Tiger. It also offers kid-friendly features like setting animal alarm sounds, getting help with homework, and calling approved family and friends. In addition, the company provides a 1-year Amazon Kids+ subscription that offers child-friendly Audible books, interactive games, and educational skills. With the Echo Dot Kids Edition, Amazon offers 2 years worth of worry-free guarantee. It comes with an option to create a special voice profile for your child which is activated automatically when Alexa detects your kid’s voice.
Echo Show 10
The Echo Show 10 stands out from its peers with a unique rotating display. This rotating display will track your voice and turn to face you every time when you watch videos or attend a video call. This is made possible with a brushless motor that can spin the 10.1-inch display at 360 degrees. The 13 MP camera on the front keeps track of your movements when needed. The Echo devices support Spotify, Hulu, Apple Music, Prime Video, and Music with support for Netflix and Zoom coming soon.
Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Stick Lite
The 2nd generation upgrade to the original Fire TV Stick comes along with a Lite version. The new Fire TV Stick comes with a faster SoC, promising faster launch times of apps. To ensure stable connection, there is a new dual-band, dual-antenna Wi-Fi as well. The 1080P version now supports HDR10, HDR10+, HLG content and Dolby Atmos for supported content. In addition, there is support for fully featured Alexa Voice remote as well.
