Reliance’s next biggest tech investment will be towards AI and cloud platforms, and it has now laid the foundation with the plan to build its own exclusive cloud facility, which will be duly designed and will be working towards adopting world-class AI features within the Reliance line of businesses, including the energy, retail, telecom, and even financial businesses.
The new cloud facility will establish global specifications and service-level standards demanded by Google Cloud, which will enable the performance of high-demand workloads.
Relance’s main aim towards AI adoption is focused on two factors: modernizing operations and driving innovations for business success. On the other hand, this will also boost skilled employment within the IT sector.
“By bringing Google Cloud’s AI capabilities to Jamnagar, supported by Reliance’s infrastructure, renewable energy, and nationwide network, we are laying the foundation for India to become a global leader in AI,” RIL Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani said in a statement.
Adding more details about the cloud center, Reliance Industries also promises that the new cloud establishments will be powered with RIL’s green energy initiatives, and the cloud center will be equipped with dedicated Jio intra as well as inter metro fibre connectivity, which will link Jamnagar cloud facilities to metro cities like Delhi and Mumbai.
Google with Reliance has also joined hands with another major tech, Zuckerberg’s Meta, where both giants will collaborate to explore and introduce new AI capabilities.
